The Inner Path of Photography

We yearn for the taste of the sacred…and through our cameras discover it, the world, and ourselves.

“Take the binding…”

“Take the binding from around the foot
of your soul, and let it race around the track
in front of the crowd.”

– Rumi

I love this! It’s inspiring to me on a deeply inner level, and I also smile every time I get the visual.
Rumi is the master at using images to evoke the inner truths he is teaching.
A photographer of words….

“I was a bride married to amazement…”

“I was a bride married to amazement.”

This quote was referenced by one of the writers in “Tales from the Expat Harem: Foreign Women in Modern Turkey.”

I love it…how creative could we be if we remember to be “brides married to amazement?”

(The quote is from work by Mary Oliver, poet)

My photo in the NY Times blog…

Remember the NY  Times project, “A Moment in Time” that I posted to a couple of weeks ago?

Well, here’s my photo published there…and the whole project results…

What a fun project…I’m loving seeing what everyone else shot and also how many people/places participated!

We are the world (hum the tune here…:)

And the road goes on forever and the party never ends…

Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, April 2010

Last month I was in Istanbul, now in Taos, NM, in a few days, Houston and Galveston, Texas! Where will the road lead next? Still enjoying the party of life…

Photo by Heidi…but thanks for a great line, Robert Earl Keen!
