“The Inner Path of Photography – Santa Fe”

A weekend experience with Heidi Straube, M.Ed, LPC

Photographer, Psychotherapist, Muse

Santa Fe, New Mexico
September 16-18, 2011

Be enchanted, inspired, expanded…
Enhance your photography, enjoy your life.

Experience the beauty of New Mexico as you touch the beauty within…
Express it all through your photography.

What is the inner experience of photography? Deep, spiritual, rarely discussed…it is what seduces us and send us out to shoot again and again. We yearn for the taste of the sacred…and through our cameras discover it, the world, and ourselves.

This special weekend is for those who want to explore more deeply the intuitive, mystical part of their photography practice,  enjoy the process and flow of shooting as much as the final image, and learn more about themselves along the way.

Drawing on the tradition of the photographer Minor White, and using techniques and philosophies from inner path photography, psychology, meditative and healing practices, you’ll come to understand more fully this deep inner connection, apply it to your art, and enhance the quality of both your photography and life.

Integrating her experience of twenty-five years in meditative practices, including Zen and yogic traditions, with twenty-five years as a career/life direction counselor and contemplative psychotherapist, she has helped people to make life changes and transitions by honoring the deeper, spiritual self. She applies these same principles in her work as a professional photographer and teacher as she honors the spirit within through visual expression.

Heidi has exhibited in the international photography expositions, Recontres International de la Photographie 2001, Aix-en-Provence, France; Houston FotoFest 2000, the Dominican Republic, and Houston Women’s Institute, and the Houston Public Libraries. She specializes in fine art, natural light portraiture (with special expertise in black & white), as well as contemplative approaches to seascapes.

“The Inner Path of Photography,” a class to enhance the intuitive, mystical path of photographers (of all skill levels), improving their pictures and their lives, and “You are the Artist of Your Life,” for adults and teens to explore and create life direction, whether in career, relationship, or lifestyle change, are two examples of the classes and personal retreats that Heidi leads.

Heidi is the author of the photo book “I Dream of Galveston,” her images capturing the peacefulness, fragile beauty, and silent gracefulness of the sea, children, and adults at Galveston, Texas beaches. Her unique work as a photographer/psychotherapist has been featured in the Houston Chronicle.
