The Inner Path of Photography

We yearn for the taste of the sacred…and through our cameras discover it, the world, and ourselves.

Dock to the Unknown

Five years later – my photo poem still true for me and actively relevant this day. May you also choose the magic.

“These unexpected gifts of magic still continue
their source as mystifying as ever
whether the “face” before me
Is human, cloud, ice, fire…”

An approaching storm

Beauty….or Fear?
a choice

Walking forward, not able to see what is at the end of this dock
this day
this life

We can choose to see the light…or darkness.

I choose the magic.

“Higher Selves”

We speak of wanting to live from our higher selves

To treat all with honor
see their best side
always act from compassion and love.

I know, it can be a challenge.

This poem is for you, my friend, who sighs and says
“So peaceful where you live!”

Yes.
I agree.

Easier to connect with that high saintly self
After stepping out on a cliff to discover…

This.

I am grateful.

“Turn Around”

One can often become so seduced by something pleasurable,
that one becomes consumed by it.

So it was as I shot photographs of a beautiful sunset over the ocean.
Shifting tones of reds, shimmers on the water, each moment a new experience!

The light dimmed. I felt satisfied.
I had captured what I wanted, and turned to leave.

And saw this.
A scene behind me that captured my heart far more deeply than the classic sunset. The wind blown grasses, the curves of the hill, lovely subtle color behind…
I felt my spirit leap over and upwards into the clouds.

Only time for two fast frames and then the light was gone. But the thrill of that sight, the inner awe, will remain with me each time I see this image.

Turn around. Remain open.

That which best feeds your heart may come to you in unexpected places.

“Sweetness”

Elegance.

Simple beauty.

Softness.

I wish you much sweetness today.
