The Inner Path of Photography

We yearn for the taste of the sacred…and through our cameras discover it, the world, and ourselves.

I want to fly
he said,

And so he did.

As we each can
In our own unique way.

04MAPPLETHORPE-blog427

For those of you who have HBO, this looks like a wonderful documentary!

“Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures”

New York Times review today by James Poniewoziki: “Mapplethorpe: ‘Look at the Pictures’ on HBO gives context to commentary.”

Interesting perspectives and information for all creatives and art lovers.

“Sweet Caress”

hstraube2016_capecod_viewfromwindowfor sweetcaress-4466

Quelle que soit la durée de votre séjour sur cette petite planète,
et quoi qui’l vous advienne
le plus important c’est que vous puissiez – de temps en temps –
sentir la caresse exquise de la vie.

However long your stay on this small planet lasts
and whatever happens during it,
the most important thing is that – from time to time –
you feel life’s sweet caress.

Happy Mardi Gras! – A Video from the Past

A Visit to Shannon (Mardi Gras Time!)

I created this video in 2005 after visiting a friend in Louisiana at Mardi Gras time. Remembering it today, I thought I’d share with you to celebrate on this “Fat Tuesday.”

So special for me – to use photography to celebrate joy and love.

Laissez les bons temps roulez! Let the good times roll!
(Dance away, my friends…)
