The Inner Path of Photography

We yearn for the taste of the sacred…and through our cameras discover it, the world, and ourselves.

“Moments of Awe…30 Days”

Life is filled with many moments of beauty,
filling us with the awe of being alive.

Come join me in “Moments of Awe…30 Days”

I invite you to post, once a day for 30 days,
something in your day that uplifts you, has happened to you,
or that you’ve captured through your art.

Postings can be a photograph, painting, a phrase or quote,
an observation, a poem you’ve written…
all in response to your day.

The daily practice of “Moments of Awe” is to remind us each day
of the small and large joys that are given to us –
and will allow us to deepen and make real
our connection to love and soulful living.

If you can post each day for 30 days, you will have built
a beautiful foundation for living in awe,
seeing and holding this feeling more and more easily.

If you’re a photographer, artist, or writer,
posting each day will deepen your practice.

Allowing yourself to be spontaneous,
non-attached to perfection,
and calling on spirit each day,
will result in your connecting even more
with all areas of your essence,
and creating the art that will inspire others.

Let’s share the miracle and mystery of our lives together.
I invite you to the practice of living your life –
creating your art –
from the place of Awe.

“Moments of Awe…30 Days” starts on Thursday, August 1 and ends Friday August 30. This is a free Facebook Group experience.

A Note from Heidi:

August finds me ready to try some new Inner Path experiences – and engage others in the fun. “Moments of Awe…30 Days” was inspired from my own delight in “capturing the awe” of my days and the need to my work more actively. I love being with others who feel the magic of life, so using the expansive connections of technology, I’m inviting all to experiment new ways of connection with me.

I’m starting with a Facebook group to try out the concept – but will look forward to offering other ways that I have in mind to dance together. Stay tuned! This first step is a reflection of not waiting for the perfect platform, or spending 6 months (too long!) putting the pieces together, in order to share my inspirations and ways of living life now.

Send me a note anytime! Let me know what you’re yearning for as you create your life and your art. Let’s enjoy living from the soul together.

“My life is a study in living with impermanence –
each day brings its own subtle or dramatic changes. The world is my studio.”

“Turn Around”

One can often become so seduced by something pleasurable,
that one becomes consumed by it.

So it was as I shot photographs of a beautiful sunset over the ocean.
Shifting tones of reds, shimmers on the water, each moment a new experience!

The light dimmed. I felt satisfied.
I had captured what I wanted, and turned to leave.

And saw this.
A scene behind me that captured my heart far more deeply than the classic sunset. The wind blown grasses, the curves of the hill, lovely subtle color behind…
I felt my spirit leap over and upwards into the clouds.

Only time for two fast frames and then the light was gone. But the thrill of that sight, the inner awe, will remain with me each time I see this image.

Turn around. Remain open.

That which best feeds your heart may come to you in unexpected places.

“Blizzard”

I miss the snow this year,
my second winter on Cape Cod.

I miss the drama, the storm,
the pure Immersion in cold and wind
snowflakes on my face.

The silence and softness surround me

Enchanted

In love with capturing God in a blizzard.

Photographer’s Note:

I love the softness of this image, the sensuousness of the drifts, the stillness.
It feels like a dream – which it was.

It gives me great pleasure to explore, experience, feel –
To shoot in situations that aren’t traditionally thought of as ideal times.

The dark, the middle of a blizzard, the rain.

Never being sure of the outcome, trusting the Connection is true
This, for me, an essential of being passionate and alive.
